CURRENT STORY

Strother has had a major set back. On January 24th, 2026 while attending TCU as a freshman, he entered the Emergency Room struggling to breath. A CT scan revealed a large tumor, the size of a small watermelon, impinging on his heart and his lungs. A biopsy revealed a germ cell tumor and chemotherapy was started that night to reduce the tumor.

Currently Strother is undergoing 6 days of chemo, followed by 14 days off. The treatment plan is to have 4 treatments on a 12 week cycle. We are all hopeful and optimistic that he will beat this disease. He is an amazing young adult, standing strong, fighting hard. His "This is the way it is - We'll beat it - Let's get this thing going"   attitude has permeated everyone around him.

Many of you have asked how you can love on, encourage, and/or support Strother. Currently the family doesn't need anything. But if you feel so led, one idea that you might consider is to donate to one of his favorite non-profits listed in the "Where We Give" section in his honor. Or you might consider donating to this Climb That Mountain Fund which gives Strother the opportunity, with input from his cousins, to choose which non-profits he wishes to bless, passing  forward the love and support he has received from this amazing community of warriors.

As always we ask you to continue to pray for this amazing guy.  If you wish to follow his progress, his mom has written an amazing blog which updates his progress. She is a beautiful writer, and you will be able to stay in the loop.
